Who this covers
This policy applies to wardindex.com. It is written to meet Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act and the requirements of the advertising network we use.
What we collect ourselves
Almost nothing. The site is a set of static pages served from a content delivery network. That network keeps short-lived server logs — IP address, request path, browser type — for security and capacity reasons. We do not run accounts, forms that store data, or a newsletter.
The only thing this site writes to your browser is a single preference for the light or dark colour theme. You can clear it from your browser at any time.
Advertising
Pages on this site may carry advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites and to measure whether ads are seen. This is Google’s processing, under Google’s policies, not ours.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google’s Ads Settings, and out of third-party vendors’ personalised advertising at aboutads.info. How Google uses data from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count page views and see which pages people arrive from. It is switched on, and saying so is simpler than leaving a conditional sentence for a reader to decode.
Two settings that were previously off are now on, and they change what you are giving up. Google signals links your visit to your Google account where you are signed in and allowed that, which lets Google build an audience profile rather than only a page count. Ad personalisation signals allow that data to be used for targeting advertising.
So the honest description is not “we count page views”. Measurement on this site now feeds advertising, and it does so through Google rather than through anything held here. IP addresses are still anonymised, which is independent of the above and does not offset it.
This page previously said analytics here did not share data with advertisers. That was true while the signals were off and it is no longer true, so the sentence is gone rather than softened. The date at the top of this page is when that changed.
You can block it outright with any tracker-blocking extension, or with Google’s own opt-out add-on. Nothing on this site needs analytics to work.

Your rights
Under the PDPA you may ask what personal data we hold about you and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Given the above, the honest answer will usually be “none”, but the request is welcome: desk@wardindex.com.

This policy is revised when our practices change. The revision date is shown at the top of the page.
